The Colorado River communities have long been associated with fun outdoor events. Just two weeks after pulling yourself out of the river following the Regatta it’s time to grab your swimsuits and beach chairs for what promises to be Bullhead City’s next big event:
The 1st Annual Riverfest being held September 11th, 12th and 13th at the new and improved Rotary Park. The event will be held Friday 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a. m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Riverfest will host professional and amateur Wakeboard and Wakeskate competitions featuring some of the biggest names in the sport such as Ricky Gonzales, Nick Taylor, AJ Rancinelli and Joey White. There will also be a Freestyle BMX competition announced by Rick Thorne, and a Skateboard Competition hosted by Satellite 13 with a demo by Pharmacy Skateboards. On the traditional sport side, there will be an adult softball tournament featuring local and out of town teams.
For those hooked on music the Riverfest will have three stages of entertainment. There will be a family stage featuring local dance troupes and hypnotic magic. In the beer garden will be an adult contemporary stage sponsored by Lazy Harry’s Bar & Grill featuring local bands as well as a few surprises. And last but not least, there will be the alternative stage sponsored by ourlocalscene.com that will feature local and well known touring acts such as Voodoo Glow Skulls and The Skeletones.
Many of our local non-profit organizations will run game booths for the young at heart to enjoy all weekend. In addition a section will be setup for local businesses to provide food and drink as well as arts and crafts. So stop by eat, drink, shop and be merry!!!
